Observations on the Efficacy of Moxibustion plus Electroacupuncture in Treating Sensorineural Tinnitus

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Zhao’s thunder-fire moxibustion(briefly named thunder-fire moxibustion) plus electroacupuncture in treating sensorineural tinnitus.Methods Ninety patients were randomly allocated to two groups.The treatment group of 45 patients received thunder-fire moxibustion plus electroacupuncture and the control group of 45 patients,electroacupuncture alone.Results The total efficacy rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and 84.4% in the control group.There was a statistically significant difference in the total efficacy rate between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Zhao’s thunder-fire moxibustion plus electroacupuncture has a better therapeutic effect on sensorineural tinnitus.
