Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of letrozole plus metformi on the endocrine changes and promoting ovulatory effect in clomiphene--resistant patients with polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods Patients were randomly divided into three groups amd treated with letrozole, metformin or letrozole plus metformin, respectively. The levels o serum INS、FSH、LH、T and E2 after menstruation were determined,in addition, endometrial thickness, the number of mature ovarian and pregnancy rate were measured after treatment. Results The levels of serum INS、LH、T and E2 were significantly decreased after treated with letrozole plus metformi(P0.01) as well as increasing endometrial thickness, the pregnancy rate of combined treatment achieved 46.4%,much more effective than single use of letrozole;or metformi. Conclusion Through the mitigation of insulin resistance symptom, restore the normal physiological level of sex hormones, ltrozole plus metformin could effectively promote ovulation and obtain high pregnancy rate.
