The effects of bisoprol on plasma calcitonin gene relative peptide and endothelin level in patients with chronic heart failure

Abstract

AIM: To study the effects of bisoprol on plasma calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) levels in patients with chronic heart failure. METHODS: The patients were divided into the tested group and the control group who were taken same kinds or sorts of basic drugs for the heart failure. The venous plasma CGRP and ET-1 levels were determined at the beginning and 6 months later. RESULTS: ①At the beginning there were no significantly different in the two groups for the levels of their plasma CGRP and ET-1. ② In the tested group the levels of the plasma CGRP and ET-1 after 6 months were higher than at the beginning. ③ But in the control group there were no significant changes after 6 months. CONCLUSION: Bisoprol added to other basic drugs can decreased the levels of the plasma CGRP and ET-1, furthermore, it was benefit for the prognosis of the patients with the heart failure.
