Abstract

[Objective ] To observe the effect of Heifeng propolis on white blood cells( WBC ) and serum SOD of rats pre-and post-irradiated with 3.0 Gy 60Co γ-rays . [ Methods ] Changes in the SOD activity and WBC number in the pre- and post-irradiated rats treated with propolis, were dynamically investigated. [ Results ] Treatment of propolis to rats pre- and post-irradiated could facilitate recovery of the WBC and lessen the decrease in the SOD activity. [ Conclusion ] Propolis shows some effects of anti-irradiation under the experimental conditions.
