Abstract
The total polyphenol(TP)content of carambola dregs was analyzed by Folin-Ciocalteu colorimetry. The optimum conditions were investigated using gallic acid as standard. The results showed that when the concentration of Folin-Ciocalteu reagent were 1∶1 and the concentration of Na2CO3 was 7.5%,reaction 30 min in 25℃,there was a good linearity relationship between absorption value and carambola polyphenol with the concentration from 0~80 μg/ mL in 765 nm.The method was simple, accurate and suggested as an appropriate method to measure the TP content in carambola dregs
