A survey and consideration on medical statistics teaching of health information management

[Objective] To get to know the status of Medical Statistics teaching,explore the teaching ways and methods,and improve the teaching results of Medical Statistics.[Method] In this survey,203 students who have just accomplished Medical Statistics studying were selected and filled in the questionnaires.[Result] The study showed that the majority of students have a basic understanding of the importance and the aim of Medical Statistics.However,their interest in this course was not high.30.0% of the students felt difficulty in learning and the percent of students who could carry out the statistical report was only 8.4%.Most students were satisfied with the teaching arrangement and 60.1% of students thought that increasing seminar was a good choice.[Conclusion] The students have a basic understanding of the importance of Medical Statistics.We should improve our teaching quality through all kinds of methods such as case-based teaching of raw data and combining theory and practice.
