Abstract
To observe the response and toxicity of combination chemotherapy with continuous infusion 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu) and low dose cisplatin (DDP) in patients with advanced gastric cancer.Fifty-three patients with advanced gastric cancer (treatment group)were treated by combination chemotherapy of continuous infusion 5-Fu 350mg/m2·d for 8~24 hours for twenty-eight days, and DDP 5mg/m2·d,infused for five times in one week for four weeks.Patients received 2 cycles of treatment. The control group(fifty-three patients with advanced gastric cancer)was treated by FAM/FMP (5-Fu+MMC+ADM/DDP)regimen.The response rate in treatment group was 60.37%,39.62% in control group. There was a difference(P0.05) among them. The toxicity of chemotherapy such as nausea, vomiting, mylodepression in control group was higher than that in treatment group. [Conclusion] A higher response rate with mild toxicity is attainable in patients with advanced gastric cancer treated by combination of 5-Fu in continuous infusion and low dose DDP .
