Clinicopathologic Characteristics of 6 Cases of Solitary Fibrous Tumor

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical,histopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics of solitary fibrous tumor(SFT).Methods he histopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics of SFT were analyzed by light microcopy and immunhistochemistry combined with literature.Results The age of patients were 37 to 65 years(mean 50.1),The main clinical manifestations were local mass and pressure symptom.The diameter of tumors were 3.0 to 5.0 cm.Immunohistochemical staining showed that six cases were positive for CD34,bcl-2,Vim,five cases were positive for CD99,two cases were positive for desmin,all cases were negative for FVIII.Conclusion The diagnosis of SFT should based on clinical,histopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics.The behaviorof SFT can not be based on its histopathologic characteristic only,careful long-term follow-up is necessary.
