Effects of setraline on post stroke depression

Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of setraline on post stroke depression(PSD).Methods 100 patients with PSD were randomly divided into medicine group(n = 54) and control group(n= 46).The patient in the control group were treated with physical therapy and the patient in the medicine group were treated with setraline and physical therapy.All patients were assessed with Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) and the Score of CSS before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the HAMD score in both groups decreased significantly(P 0.05).Meanwhile,the medicine group showed significantly less depression than the control group(P 0.05).The score of CSS was also significantly increased after treatment(P0.05) in both group.Conclusion Setraline combined with physical therapy could significantly improve the functions of patients with PSD.
