Nerve function rehabilitation and post-stroke depressiion

Abstract

Objective To discuss the influence of treatment of post-stroke depression(PSD)on nerve function rehabilitation.Methods 100 patients with PSD were enrolled randomly for treatment group and control group and their conditions were observed and compared.Scores of Hamilton depression scale(HAMD),national institutes of health stroke scale(NIHSS) of all patients were evaluated before and after therapy.Results Scores of HAMD in treatment group was decreased significantly(3.9±2.1 vs 20.12±1.5,P0.01) after the therapy,while in the control group there was no significant difference after the therapy(14.1±3.9 vs 19.00±2.1,P0.05).Of the treatment group,the score of NIHSS was significantly lower after the therapy when compared to the control group(P0.01).Conclusion The treatment of post-stroke depression can promote nerve function rehabilitation.
