Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect and safety of phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation in the senile patients. Methods Total 89 eyes of 82 cases of 75~91 years old underwent phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation were analyzed retrospectively of postoperative vision and complications. Results All patients were finished successfully with primary intraocular lens implantation in capsule and were followed up 1 to 3 years.Postoperative visual acuity: there were 6 eyes(6.74%)≤4.0,31eyes(34.83%) ranged from 4.3 to 4.7,51 eyes(57.30%)≥4.8.There were no serious systemic and ocular complications. Conclusion The phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation is safe and effective in senile patients,as long as the preparation is full preoperative, the operation is accuracy and gentle during the operation and the observation is close postoperative.
