The experimental study of health protection wine on antioxidant effect in aged mice

Abstract

Objective To investigate the antioxidant effect of shouxingbao health protection wine in aged mice. Methods 80 Kunming aged mice were randomly divided into four groups:the aged control group, low and middle and high dose groups of health protection wine, each group were administered respectively by gastric perfusion for 90 days, the serum samples of mice were collected to determine Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activities and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents. Results Compared with aged control group, the SOD and GSH-Px activities increased remarkably, and the contents of MDA decreased respectively in groups. The effect of high and middle dose groups was better than that of low dose group, and the effect of high was equivalent to middle dose groups. Conclusion The shouxingbao health protection wine has certain effect on antioxidant and delaying aging in aged mice.
