Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical value of percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography and drainage(PTCD)in treatment of malignant obstructive jaundice. To verificate the therapeutic efficacy of the inter ventional method for treatment of malignant obstruction jaundice;to compare the curative rate and life span difference between stented group and non-stented group;to compare the curative rate and life span difference between PTCD/stenting and PTCD/stenting combined with TAI/TACE.Methods Sixty cases of malignant obstructive jaundice were treated with PTCD,including twenty cases of biliary carcinoma, eight cases of carcinoma of gallbladder, eighteen cases of heptic cancer and seventeen cases pancreatic cancer. The clinical data were retrspectively analyzed. Results The PTCD was succeed in all cases.Clinical symptoms such as jaundice and pruritus skin were relieved gradually after interventional therapy. The levels of serum bilirubin and transaminase decreased significantly after the procedure. The survival rate of those patients accepted stenting gorup or accepted TACE or TAI followed PTCD/stenting was higher. Conclusion It is an effective and safe interventional therapy to the old patients with malignant obstructive jaundice with PTCD.
