Abstract
Objective To dicuss the clinical value in the treatment of modified chemical labyrinthectomy in intractable Meniere's disease by repeatedly transtympanic injecting low concentrations of gentamicin gelatin sponge mud. Methods Seven subjects with intractable Meniere's disease were included in this study. Transtympanic low concentrations of gentamicin gelatin sponge mud injecting was taken repeatedly after Ineffective conventional intratympanic gentamyci therapy. he onset of vertigo,tinnitus,hearing change,and complications were observed after treatment. Results In 7cases,complete relief vertigo was maintained in 3cases,reduced in 3cases,unchanged in 1cases,and complete relief tinitus was maintained in 1cases,reduced in 5cases,unchanged in 1cases,No complications,such as tympanic membrane perforation or infection were observed. Conclusion Transtympanic repeatedly injecting low concentrations of gentamicin gelatin sponge mud may be a new safe,reliable modified treatment of intractable Meniere's disease.
