Expression of ID-3 Protein in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma(ESCC) and its clinical significance

Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of DNA-binding inhibitory protein-3(inhibitors of DNA binding 3,ID-3) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and its clinical significance.Methods 109 cases of surgical resected ESCC specimens and 40 cases of normal tissues as control were examined by S-P immunohistochemical staining with anti-ID-3 polyclonal antibody.Results ID-3 expression in ESCC was remarkably higher than that in normal tissues(P 0.01).ID-3 protein expression was positively correlated with tumor differentiation,no relationship was found among age,sex,lymph node metastasis,infiltration depth,with the expression of ID-3 in ESCC tissues.Conclusions Expression of ID-3 plays an important role in tumorigenesis of ESCC,maybe ID-3 is one of important agent in promoting tumor angiogenesis of ESCC.
