Abstract
Wetland is featured by its unique ecological services function and economical value .It is one of the most productive ecosystem which it has a huge economical and socio-ecological benefits in earth, such as food supply, raw and processed materials, water resources, flood control and drought defying, protection biodiversity and tourism etc. The Dongting lake wetland is one of the largest lacustrine wetland eco-system in China. There are very plentiful wetland resources. It includes 1428 species of plants resources, 216 species of birds resources, 119 species of fish resources, 27 species of amphibians and retile, 22 species of mammals and a great many of other wild living things. Based on the wetland resources' character, the economics theory and method is applied in the paper on the base of the investigation and experiment to analyses the asset value type of the wetland resources and to evaluate the direct values in use and the indirect values in use in Dongting lake wetland resources such as the method of tax rate of Sweden.Researching value, travel consumption method, Robert Constanza method, market value method, assets value method. The conclusion can be drawn that the total assets value of the wetland resources is 80.72×108元RMB in Dongting lake wetland. The value of flood control is 37.12×108元RMB, It is 45.99percent of the total value. The result shows the wetland ecosystem service valuation is the main part of the wetland resource assets, and that only when we make use of the wetland resources rationally and protect the wetland eco-environment and carry out the assets management of the wetland resources in Dongting lake area, can the sustainable utilization of the wetland resources be realized and the sustainable development of the regional economy around Dongting lake area is guaranteed.
