Evaluation of the Indirect Use Values of the Wetland Resources in Dongting Lake

The Dongting lake wetland is one of the largest lacustrine wetland eco-systems in China.There are very plentiful wetland resources.Based on the wetland resources' characteristics,the economics theory and methods are applied in the paper on the basis of the investigation and experiments to analyses the indirect use values of the wetland resources and evaluate the indirect use values of Dongting lake wetland resources.The conclusion can be drawn that the total indirect use values of the wetland resources is 567 445.5×10~4 RMB/Per year in Dongting lake wetland.The value of flood control is 37.12×10~8 RMB/per year.The result shows that only when we make use of the wetland resources rationally and protect the wetland eco-environment and carry out the assets management of the wetland resources in Dongting lake area can the sustainable utilization of the wetland resources be realized and the sustainable development of the regional economy around Dongting lake area be guaranteed.
