The idea born in heaven,completed by man is Xun Zi's basic principle.Under the principle,Xun Zi considers nurturing of humanities as the cause and the theoretical aim of poetic and music production.He pays abundant attention to the functions of poetry and music in Confucian self-cultivation,social stability and nation's politics.This idea of his has profoundly influenced traditional Chinese humanism and the literary view of demonstrating ideal through writing.
