Abstract

Xun Zi systematically summarized each Confucian school of thought in pre-Qin period.He constructed his own complete poetics theory.Xun Zi not only improved the status of the Book of Songs,but also put rites throughout all his poetics in discussing the Book of Songs.The objective of Xun Zi's quotation of the Book of Songs was for his rite and morality theory.He was the representative of Confucianism politicizing the Book of Songs.
