Abstract

Xun Zi's thought was a combination of Confucianism and Legalism,which emphasized the role of rite and morality and the social order. His thought of the Book of Songs was accordance with his integrative thought which was represented as his emphasis of the didactic role of the Book of Songs,of application of studying and of practices by the quotations of Feng,Ya,and Song. Xun Zi quoted from the Books of Songs with a sense of ideological education. Most of his quotation were garbled,which provided a base for the study of the Book of Songs in Han Dynasty.
