Abstract
[Objective]To compare the effects and safety of HTZAAR and benazepril in treating essential hypertension.[Methods]60 cases of essential hypertension were randomly divided into two groups: HYZAAR group (30 cases, 1 tablet/d) and benazepril group (30 cases, 10 mg/d). Their blood pressure, heart rate and adverse reaction were recorded both prior to treatment and 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after treatment.[Results]8 weeks after treatment, the blood pressure of both groups decreased significantly; the total effective rates of the case group and control group were 96.7% and 83.3% respectively. The HYZAAR group has a better effect in reducing blood pressure, the difference was significant (P0.01).[Conclusion]HYZAAR can effectively control essential hypertension.
