Abstract
As an important subject in translation studies,translator's subjectivity has been under increasing attention by translation scholars.Based on the current research achievements,this paper probes into,from the view of dialectical thinking,both connotations and restrictive factors of translator's subjectivity.It also argues that translator's subjectivity is,in essence,a dialectical unity of its initiative and restriction,and the play of translator's subjectivity is actually the result from the interaction between initiative and restriction.
