Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between carotid atherosclerosis plaque and C-reactive protein in patients with Ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods The blood levels of Hs-CRP in 30 patients with acute cerebral infarction (group A) and 30 patients with cerebral circulation insufficiency (group B) were measured,All have the carotid atherosclerosis plaque by ultrasonography. The blood levels of Hs-CRP in 30 aged healthy persons without carotid atherosclerosis plaque(control group, group C) were also measured. Results The levels of Hs-CRP in group A were significantly elevated compared with group B and C(P0.05);but there is no significant difference between group B and C(P 0.05).Conclusion There is correlation between Hs-CRP and cerebral infarction by atherosclerosis,There is no correlation between Hs-CRP and the symptom of patients with cerebral circulation insufficiency by stabile carotid atherosclerosis plaque.
