Abstract

Objective To observe the relationship of carotid artery atherosclerosis and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) with acute cerebral infarction. Methods 96 patients with acute cerebral infarction were collected as the observed group, and 60 cases of health examiners were collected as the control group. The carotid artery atherosclerosis was detected by the color Doppler ultrasound. The concentration of hs-CRP in serum was detected by immunoturbidimetry. Results The checking rate of carotid artery atherosclerosis with acute cerebral infarction was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).The observed group had significantly higher concentration of hs-CRP in serum than the control group(P0.05).The observed group had significantly more carotid artery atherosclerosis stenosis more than fifty percents and instability atherosclerosis plaque than those in control group(P0.05).The patients with instability atherosclerosis plaque was significantly higher concentration of hs-CRP in serum than the patients with stability atherosclerosis plaque(P0.05).Conclusion The carotid artery atherosclerosis stenosis more than 50% and instability atherosclerosis plaque are important causes of acute cerebral infarction. The level of hs-CRP in serum can reflect the stability of carotid artery atherosclerosis plaque.
