Effects of HL/HW Composite Zeolite on the Performance of Hydrocarbon Catalytic Cracking Catalyst

Abstract

The mixture of zeolite REUSY and HL/HW composite zeolite with different contents of zeolite HW (IW/IL, the intensity ratio of XRD characteristic peaks for zeolite W and zeolite L, denoted as the content of zeolite HW in HL/HW composite zeolite) was used as the active component of catalytic cracking catalyst. The microactivity test (MAT) was carried out to study the effect of HL/HW composite zeo-lite with different IW/IL values in the cracking catalyst on the activity, product distribution, coke deposition, and research octane number (RON) of obtained gasoline. The results show that when IW/IL value is in the range of 0–0.12, the MAT index and the yield of gasoline in-crease, the specific coke decreases, and the yield of gaseous product first decreases and then increases. When the IW/IL value is higher than 0.12, the MAT index, the yield of gasoline, and yield of gaseous product decrease, and the specific coke increases. When IW/IL value is 0.12, the catalyst shows good performance. Compared with the comparative catalyst (no zeolites L and W introduced), aromatic content of gaso-line product and RON increase by 9.85% and 3.01%, respectively, and olefin content decreases by 1.30%.
