Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acute exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD) with the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine. Methods: 180 AECOPD patients were randomly divided into one treatment group and one control group.90 patients in the control group were treated with routine western medicine while 90 patients in the treatment group were treated with the phlegm-reducing and lung-heat-removing decoction besides the routine western medicine. The treatment course of the two groups lasted 10 days. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 95.55% while the total effective rate of the control group was 83.33%.The clinical symptoms, pulmonary signs, chest X-rays,lung function, blood gas analysis of the two groups significantly improved after the treatment and the effectiveness of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P0.05).Conclusion: The combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine has a better effect on the treatment of AECOPD patients.
