Abstract

Objective To determine the effect of 3 humidification fluids on patients with artificial airway. Methods A total of 140 patients with tracheotomy were divided into a control group(n=46),an experimental group A(n=50),and an experimental group B(n=44).The control group,the experimental group A and group B received the humidification fluid of 0.45%sodium chloride,0.45%sodium chloride plus ambroxol hydrochloride,and 1.5% sodium bicarbonate,respectively.The humidification and the incidence of complications were observed. Results The humidification was much better in the experimental group A and the incidence of complications(irritating cough,phlegm number,airway mucosal injury hemorrhage,lung infection and other complications) was significantly lower than that in the control group(P0.01).The complications of phlegm number and lung infection were lower in the experimental group B than those in the control group(P0.05),while the incidence of irritating cough and airway mucosal injury hemorrhage and the humidification did not differ(P0.05). Conclusion For patients with tracheotomy,0.45% sodium chloride solution plus ambroxol hydrochloride by the infusion pump-controlled continuous humidification of airway was much better than 0.45% sodium chloride solution or 1.5%sodium bicarbonate alone.
