Abstract

Objective To study the relationship of early prognosis between metabolic syndrome(MS)in the patients with cerebral infarction. Methods 258 patients who had cerebral infarction from Jan.2009 to Nov.2011 in our hospital were selected, which were divided into two groups according to whether they had MS or not,the group 134 patients with cerebral infarction complicated with metabolic syndrome(n=134) and the other group 124 patients without metabolic syndrome(n=124).The number of cerebral infarction, the area of cerebral infarction and stenoses of the large intracerebral vessels were observed between two groups, separately to judge the degree of the clinical neurological deficit scores in 1,14,and 28 days and appraise the clinical prognosis in the 28 days after the incidence. Results Among 258 patients,10 patients(33.5%) with MS in ≤50 group,27 patients(40.9%) with MS in 51~60 group,97 patients(59.5%) with MS in ≥61 group, the statistical analysis of the trend of relevance, cerebral infarction with the growth as the age MS incidence is increasing trend(P0.01).After 1,14,and 28 days, the clinical neurological deficit scores of MS group was higher than non-MS group, the difference was significant(P0.05).The incidence rate of the large cerebral infarction and multiple infarction are higher than the latter, while the lacunar infarction is lower(P0.05).The total effective rate was higher in non-MS group than MS group in the 28 days(75.0% vs 55.9%,P0.01),the stenoses of the large intracerebral vessels is more serious than the former. Conclusion Cerebral infarction with the growth as the age MS incidence is increasing trend, the clinical neurological deficit scores is more serious than patients without MS,the large cerebral infarction and multiple infarction are higher than the latter, while the lacunar infarction is lower, and stenoses of the large intracerebral vessels is more serious than without metabolic syndrome, the efficacy of early prognosis is worse than the former.
