Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between metabolic syndrome(MS) and cerebral stroke type, complication and prognosis. Methods Clinical data of 568 cerebral stroke patients with MS(MS group) and 209 cerebral stroke patients without MS(no-MS group) were compared and analyzed. Results In MS group, the incidence of cerebral infarction was significantly higher(93.0%) than that in the no-MS group(85.2%)(P0.01). The incidence of complication (the rate of pulmonary infection was 51.9%,respiratory failure was 27.3%,heart failure was 28.0%,renal failure was 14.3%) and mortality (25.0%) were significantly higher than those in no-MS group (19.1%,13.9%,14.8%,5.3%,12.9%) (all P0.01). The total effective rate (64.1%) was significantly lower than that in no-MS group (74.6%)(P0.01). Conclusion The rate of cerebral infarction and inidence of complications are remarkably higher, and the prognosis is poor in cerebral stroke patients with MS.
