Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effects of three kinds of glassfiber post and composite resin core in restoration of residual root and crown.Method: 148 patients with 161 residual roots and crowns after endodontically treatment were selected.Glassilber post and related bonding resin was performed to fabricate post,then restored with crowns.All patients were followed up after treatments.Results: 2 years later,10 cases failed due to the fall off of the post or crown,3 cases failed due to the broken of the post,and the failure at of the FibroPost was the lowest among the three kinds of posts.Conclusion: Glassfiber post and composite resin core can be considered as good material to restore residual root and crown due to its high-strength,aesthetics and convenience for operation.The design of the post surface is a factor to enhance the bonding strength.
