Abstract

Objective To analysis the antibiotic resistant patterns and isolates of E.coli that producing extended-spectrum beta-lactamases(ESBLs) in our hospital. Methods Thirty-two E.coli isolates in our hospital were tested with test cards for biochemical identification and antibiotic susceptibility.Isolates that produced ESBLs were detected by test card for extended-spectrum beta-lactamase and plate diffusion method. The results of antibiotic susceptibility were analyzed. Results Out of the 32 isolates of E.coli,8 strains yielded ESBLs(25.0%).These strains with ESBLs were highly resistant to most common available antibiotics, but only sensitive to Meropenem,Piperacillin/Tazobactam. Conclusion The test results showed that the isolates of E.coli with ESBLs were high.E.coli with ESBLs exhibited highly cross-resistant to a wide range of antibiotic drugs. Therefore,it is very important to identify these strains with ESBLs for the clinical treatment.
