Effects of Sanhuang Jiangtang Decoction on Myocardium and Renal Function in Type 2 Diabetic Mellitus Rats

Objective: To observe the effects of Sanhuang Jiangtang Decoction on myocardium and renal function in type2 diabetic mellitus rats.Methods: The type 2 diabetic mellitus rats model was established by using high fat diet and injecting Streptozotocin(STZ)(25 mg·kg-1),and SD rats were randomly assigned into T2 DM model group[physiological saline lavage 10 mL·(kg·d)-1],Gliclazide Tablets group[17.5 g·(kg·d)-1]and Chinese medicine group[Sanhuang Jiangtang Decoction group,22g·(kg·d)-1].After 4 weeks,the whole blood was collected from the abdominal aorta to examine blood glucose level,myocardial zymogram and renal functional indicators.HE staining was performed on the renal tissue to observe the morphological changes.Results: FPG in Chinese medicine group was higher than that in T2 DM model group(P0.05),CK,CK-MB and LDH in Chinese medicine group and Gliclazide Tablets group were significantly higher than those in T2 DM model group(P0.01),and UA in Chinese medicine group was higher than that in T2 DM model group(P0.05).Renal pathological sections of Chinese medicine group showed that it was not apparent that proximal convoluted tubule and distal convoluted tubule had been damaged,and the glomerulus had not been changed.Conclusion: Sanhuang Jiangtang Decoction can decrease the blood glucose level,improve myocardial injury and glomerular sclerosis in T2 DM model rats.It maybe reduce the incidence of diabetic cardiomyopathy and nephropathy.
