Correlation analysis of fasting plasma glucose in 16367 residents of Chongqing

Objective To investigate fasting plasma glucose(FPG) level and analyse the correlation of impaired fasting glucose(IFG) with body mass index(BMI)、blood pressure(BP)、serum lipids(SL)in residents of Chongqing.Methods Data of BMI、BP、SL、FPG were obtained from 16367 residents receiving regular health examination in our hospital in 2006.Results Average FPG level was(5.03±1.11) mmol/L,diabetes and IFG detection rate were both 3.2%,BMI,BP,SL(total cholesterol,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein) of IFG group were significantly higher than normal blood sugar group;IFG was correlated positively with total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein level(LDL) and negatively with high-density lipoprotein(HDL).Conclusion IFG is closely correlated with BMI、BP、SL,and it is significantly important to regularly exam the body in the early.
