Abstract
[Objective] To analyze the clinical characteristics in health examination people with impaired fasting glucose. [Methods] A cross-sectional analysis of clinical characteristics was conducted in 1198 health examination people. According to fasting plasma glucose(FPG) ,the subjects were divided into 3 groups:normal glucose tolerance(NGT) ,impaired fasting glucose(IFG) and diabetes mellitus(DM) ,and the clinical characteristics of the above subcategories were analyzed. Meanwhile, the clinical characteristics of the IFG subcategory in the age groups and the sex groups were compared. [Results] Compared with the NGT group, the IFG group had higher systolic blood pressure(SBP) ,diastolic blood pressure(DBP) ,body mass index(BMI) ,triglyceride(TG) ,total cholesterol(TC) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) ,and lower high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) . The prevalence of lipid disorder, hypertension, obesity /overweight,and the ratio of three or more risk factors were statistically higher than those in the NGT group. The IFG group had lower SBP and DBP than the DM group. With the increasing of age,the levels of SBP and LDL-C increased in IFG group. Compared with youth group, the old age group had more serious lipid disorder and hypertension. In IFG group DBP,TG and obesity /overweight were significantly increased in male subjects. [Conclusion] The results show that lipid disorder, obesity /overweight and increased blood pressure exist in the IFG stage. The clinical characteristics of age and sex are significantly different in IFG group.
