Abstract
The study was to investigate the adsorption properties of peanut Shell adsorbent modified by triethylenetetramine for the removal of Cr(Ⅵ) from aquous solution. The static experiments influencing factors includex dosage, particle size, contact time, initial concentration of Cr(Ⅵ),temperature and initial pH.The result showed when the adsorbent dosage was from 1.0 to 1.6 g/L,contact time was 150min and initial concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) was 100 mg/L,the removal rate was 99.36% and the adsorption capacity was as high as 100.95 mg/g.The main adsorption mechanism may be that the ion exchange between Cr2O2-7 and the functional groups at the adsorption sites, followed by electrostatic adsorption and redox processes.
