Observation of the Effect of Psychological Rehabilitation on Post-stroke Depression

Abstract

Objective To study the effect of psychological rehabilitation on post-stroke depression,and the influence of psychological treatment on the neurological rehabilitation and the ability of daily living.Methods One hundred and twenty patients of post-stroke depression were collected and randomly divided into treatment group and control group.Both groups were given common basic treatment.In addition,the treatment group received psychological treatment.the treatment duration of both groups was 8 weeks.Patients in both groups undertook measuring scale evaluation respectively before or after treatment for 4 week and 8 week.Hamilton depression rating scale(HAMD) ,Scandinavian stroke scale(SSS) and ability of daily living(ADL) were measured.Results The treatment group have an advantage than the control group in improving depression,neurological deficit and rating in ability daily living(P0.05) .Conclusion Psychological treatment not only can improve depressive state,but also help the rehabilitation of physical and verbal functions.It is a safe and effective method for the treatment of post-stroke depression.
