Corneal endothelium cell density in different cataract operation after glaucoma surgery

Abstract
Objective To investigate the changes of the corneal endothelium cell density in different cataract operation after glaucoma surgery. Methods Fifty eight(58 eyes) cataract patients after glaucoma operation were randomized into two groups,patients in group A accepted transparent corneal incision phacoemulsification cataract extraction,patients in group B accepted temperal of temporalupper manual small incision cataract extraction.The corneal endothelium cell density before and after cataract surgery were observed.Results The mean corneal endothelium cell density after operation in group A and group B was(2004±152)/mm2 and(1825±191)/mm2,there was no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion The damage of corneal endothelium in two surgical methods is identical on the whole.
