Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of clopidogrel combined with simvastatin on the prognosis in 90 days after first attack in patients with transient ischemic attack(TIA).Methods Ninety patients with TIA were randomly divided into two groups(n=45 each). The treatment group(group A) was treated with clopidogrel combined with simvastatin, and the control group(group B)with aspirin. The datas of 90 days followed-up in two groups were analyzed. Results Compared with group B,the incidence of severe vascular events, fibrinogen, platelet packing fraction,TC,TG and LDL-C decreased markedly in 90 days after attack, and HDL-C increased(P0.05 or P0.01,respectively) in group A.There were no serious side reactions in two groups. Conclusions Clopidogrel combined with simvastatin might be an effective treatment for preventing severe vascular events in short-term after TIA attack.
