Abstract
OBJECTIVE To prepare a tinidazole gel and establish an HPLC method with metronidazole as internal standard to determine the content. METHODS The chromatographic column; Hypersil-C18 column. Mobile phase:methanol-water-36%acetic acid (30:70:0.5). Flow rate: 1.0 mL·min-1. Detection wavelength: 318 nm. Sensitivity: 0.08 AUFS. RESULTS The calibration curve was linear in the range of 41.84-125.52 mg·L-1 ( r = 0. 9997). Average recovery was 97. 92 % with RSD 1.02%.CONCLUSIONS The method is accurate, rapid, and suitable for the quality-control of the gel.
