Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the formaldehyde pollution in the indoor air of newly decorated hotels.[Methods]100 newly decorated hotel rooms were selected as the study objects,50 hotel rooms decorated over 3 years ago were selected as the control group; chemical spectrophotometry was applied to determine the concentration of formaldehyde.[ Results] Significant difference was found in the formaldehyde concentration between high and low temperature periods in the same period after decoration(P<0.05).Formaldehyde pollution was proved to be more serious in the finely decorated rooms than in the simple ones.[Condusion]The formaldehyde pollution is quite serious in the indoor air of decorated rooms;the quality and quantity of decoration materials,decoration period and indoor temperature are the major factors that influence the formaldehyde concentration.Ventilation contributes to the release of formaldehyde pollution.
