Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect and outcome of surgical treatment for severe traumatic brain injury.MethodsData of 120 patients with severe traumatic brain injury(GCS8),including surgical treatment in 106 cases and conservative treatment in 14 cases,were analyzed retrospectively.ResultsAmong the 120 patients,24(20.0%) had good outcome,17(14.2%) had moderate disability,39 had severe disability(32.5%),2(1.7%) survived in a vegetable state,and 38(31.7%) died.ConclusionThe reinforcement of standard treatment of severe traumatic brain injury can improve the prognosis and reduce the mortality.
