On He Shaoji's Poetics Poems

In modern times(In Chinese history referring to the period from the mid-19th cenntury to the May 4th Movement of 1919),there lived He Shaoji,the key figure of advocating Sung poem school,blazed his own path in terms of his poetics,which is also enbodied in his poems regarding poetics.His poetics poems range from origin theory,function theory,inspiration theory,to style theory and critical theory.He Shaoji holds that compassion is the most basic poetic mood and that such physiological states as drunkenness and hunger tend to stimulate poets' inspiration to create,which are totally brand-new ideas.Although his poetics poems are characterized by tolerance and flexibility,they are bound to have a tinge of conservativeness and unilateralism.
