Analysis of probiotic lactobacillus′s effect on vulvovaginal candidiasis

Objective To investigate the effect of lactobacillus with clotrimazole in the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis.Methods 169 patients were divided into 2 groups.Group A(85 cases) was treated with probiotic lactobacillus and clotrimazole pessary for 10 days.Group B(84 cases) was treated with clotrimazole pessary for 10 days.An examination was made after 5 days of treatment,10 days of treatment,7 days after the treatment,after the next menstruation.Results Cure rate,significant efficiency rate,mild efficiency rate of group A were higher than group B in the 5 days of treatment(P0.01).There was no significant difference in cure rate between 2 groups in the 10th day of treatment.The total efficiency rate of group A after the 7th day of treatment and after the next menstruation was higher than group B.The recurrent rate of group A was lower than group B(P0.05).Conclusion Lactobacillus with clotrimazole can improve the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis,and can reduce the recurrent rate in the 7 days after the treatment and after the next menstruation.
