Analysis of direct monorhinic transsphenoidal microsurgery treatment of 50 pituitary adenoma pateints.

Objective To summarize the experience in microsurgical treatnent of pituitary through direct monorhinic transsphenoidal approach. Methods The clinical data of 50 patients with pituitary adenoma treated by direct monorhinic transsphenoidal microsurgery were analyzed retrospectively. Results Of 50 cases of the pituitary adenomas,37 were totally resected,9 subtotally and 4 in greater part,the average operative time was 76 min,no deaths,clinical symptoms of patients were improved with varying degrees. Conclusion Monorhinic transsphenoidal directly to the removal of pituitary adenoma surgery to shorten the path and time,less trauma,more effective,worthy of promotion.
