Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture on blood nitric oxide(NO) and nitric oxide synthase(NOS) of patients with hyperlipemia according to combination of reinforcement and elimination.Methods:Forty-five patients with hyperlipemia were divided into three groups at random(all were asked to take low lipid food):drug group, acupuncture group and control group. The elbow venous blood of all patients was collected to examine the level of blood lipid(TC, TG,HDL,LDL),NO and NOS before and after the treatment. The AI was calculated accordingly. Results:Drug group and acupuncture group demonstrated significant improvement in blood lipid and AI.There was no significant difference between the two groups. The level of blood NO and NOS in drug group and acupuncture group increased after the treatment. The increase in acupuncture group was more significant(P0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture has reliable effect of regulating the metabolism of lipid. Its regulatory mechanism may be relevant to increasing the blood NO and NOS of hyperlipemia patients so as to prevent the progress of AS.
