Combination of Mild Moxibustion and Electric Stimulation in Acupoints for the Immune Function of Women's Beach Volleyball Athletic Fatigue

Abstract

Objective: To observe the effects of mild moxibustion and electric stimulation of acupoints for immune function of women's beach volleyball athletic fatigue. Methods: Twenty athletes were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,with ten athletes in each group. The observation group was treated by mild moxibustion and electric stimulation in acupoints,and the control group was treated by placebo pills after dinner. Indicators of immune function including WBC,CD3+,CD4+,HGB,IgA,IgM and IgG in blood serum were observed in both groups on three time points: before training period,mid-training period and after training period. Results: The serum WBC level of the two groups were both lower before the training camp,and the treatment group was significantly increased compared with the control group after the training camp,with a significant difference between the two groups( P 0. 05). The serum HGB level of the observation group showed a stable trend in decreased slightly,but there was no significant difference in three time points( P 0. 05). However,the serum HGB level in the control group were significantly decreased as time progresses( P 0. 05). Besides,the serum CD3+,CD4+,IgA,IgM and IgG of the two groups had no statistically significant difference( P 0.05). Conclusion: This therapy has a certain effect of enhancing the WBC level,maintaining HGB concentration in the serum to eliminate athletic fatigue.
