Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of budesonide inhalation in treating patients with chronic asthmatic bronchitis. Methods: Fifty-three patients with chronic asthmatic bronchitis were randomly divided into budesonide group (29 cases) and control group (24 cases). On the basis of anti-infectious and antiasthmatic treatment, patients in budesonide group were given budesonide inhalation for 6 weeks. FEV_(1), FVC, FEV_1/FVC%, PEF were detected before and after treatment in all cases. The clinical efficacy was observed. Results: The clinical symptoms in budesonide group showed no significant improvement (P(0.05)). It showed significant improvement in FEV_(1), FVC, FEV_(1)/FVC%, (P(0.05)), but not in PEF. There is no significant changes in control group (P(0.05)). Conclusion: Budesonide inhalation can significantly improve pulmonary function in patients with chronic asthmatic bronchitis, but no short-term clinical beneficial effect was observed.
