Abstract
Objective:To study the protective function and its mechanism of estradiol after cerebral ischemic reperfusion in ovariectomized rat. Methods:We made the local cerebral ischemic reperfusion model with thread embolism of right middle cerebral artery (MCA) of young female SD rats which were bilaterally two weeks ago, determined the pathological change of brain tissue, the change of Neurological function deficit scores and NO after estrodiol benzote in jection. Results:The neurololgical function deficit scores, the infarction volume ratio, the edema volume and level of NO in serum of estradiol group were significantly decreased as compared with control group( P 0 01).Conclusion:Estrogen has significantly cerebral protective effect. The possible protective mechanism of estradiol is by means of inhibiting NO releasing.
