Clinic observation of 53 paroxysmal atrial fibrillation cases with amiodarone and valsartan

Objective:To explore the effect of combined therapy of amiodarone and valsartan on paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.Methods:Selected 103 case with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation admitted from Oct 2006-Oct 2008,and randomly divided the into treatment group and control group.Treated patients in treatment group with amiodarone,while control group with combined therapy of amiodarone and valsartan.Recorded the cases with sinus rhythm,and measured left atrial diameter on the 4th,8th,12th and 16th month.Results:On the 4th month,there was no significant difference in number of cases with sinus rhythm(P0.05),while on the 8th,12th and 16th month,there was significant difference between two groups(P0.05).There was no significant difference in left atrial diameter on the 4th and 8th month(P0.05),while on the 12th and 16th month,there was significant difference between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion:Combined therapy of amiodarone and valsartan is effective in maintaining sinus rhythm and prohibiting reoccurrence of atrial fibrillation.
