Abstract

Objective To study the in-vivo anti-influenza virus effect of Arct igenin Compound (AC).Methods The influenza virus type A FM1 strain was inoculat ed into Madin Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells to observe anti-influenza virus effect of AC,The influences of AC on lung index and death rate of mice infected by influenza virus were observed in the mice infected with virus from the nose. Meanwhile, the effect of Arctigenin Compound on inducing the production of inte rferon in normal mice was observed. Results No significant in-vitro inhibitory effect of Arctigenin Compound on influenza virus type A FM1 strain was observed .The results of in-vivo tests showed that Arctigenin Compound could improve th e mouse Pneumonia caused by influenza virus(comparison with model control group ,P 0.05),and prolong the life span of mouse infected with Influenza virus A strain FM1. Arctigenin Compound could induce the production of interferon.Concl usion Arctigenin Compound exerts an inhibitory effect on influenza virus A,and its in-vivo antivirus action may be related to the induction of in-vivo interf eron.
